Physics experiments take a look at heat and temperature...
Science fair projects with temperature explore the relationship temperature, or heat, has with other phenomenon. In the following physics experiments you will be exploring these relationships. After completing these eleventh grade science fair projects you will be prepared to design your own, unique science fair projects. Room temperature affects a person's concentration. This is a great topic for young scientists who are interested in developing their science fair projects with temperature around human behavior. For this experiment you will need to place test subjects into an environment that you have control over the temperature. You will then make notes about how the person's ability to concentrate changes as you adjust the room temperature. Electronics react negatively to high temperatures. This is another hypothesis you can test with science fair projects with temperature. In this experiment your independent variable will be the temperature and the dependent variable will be how the electronic device seems to respond to the temperature. Since this project has the potential to create a fire, you will want to make sure you work in a safe area and that you have a fire extinguisher on hand, just in case. Seed germination depends on ground temperature. If you are a botany student then this is a great hypothesis for you to work with. In this experiment your independent variable will be the ground temperature and your dependent variable will be the rate of germination. The results for this experiment can be used to predict when spring flowers will start to appear, or when you can plant your garden. If you are looking for ideas for your physics science fair projects, then consider looking at how temperature affects energy generation. In this project you will be looking at thermal energy, how it is transferred and how it evolves from one energy form to another. This is a great topic for an advanced science fair project. The final idea that you can work with is to explore how temperature is related to the water cycle. This is another science fair project idea that can be transformed into either a basic project or an advanced project. In either case your independent variable will be the temperature and the dependent variable will be some aspect of the water cylce. For example, your hypothesis may be that the ambient temperature of an ecosystem is directly related to the rate of evaporation in that system.
