The OWI 9875 Binary Player Robot Kit makes for a fun, inexpensive intermediate grade science fair project.
 View Video
Come and meet the 2nd generation of OWI's binary navigating robot kit. The BINARY ROBOT is a "predictable", 2-wheeled robot. The user creates a program that ascertains the robot's predictability. The internal program is stored on a memory disk. Here comes the fun... you, the controller can easily reprogram the robot.
The PLAYER ROBOT is controlled by black and white patterns on a disk, which are read by an infrared sensor. When you activate a program, you determine whether the 2-wheels turn right, left, forward or pause. These on / off commands illustrate the basic principles of binary coding.
To change a program you would create a new disk pattern.
