Quick demonstration for your students during a class outside
Use a fan on low, medium, & high speed. Compare the results.
Use it outside for about 15 minutes each time for a week and compare the results of 5 different days.
Use it for a few normal days during each season outside. (be careful during the winter) Compare the results.
All the data can be stored on your computer for easy access

The WindLab Jr bundles the WindLab Basic and the Light and music module so that you can demonstrate how electrical energy converts from the wind and powers LED and make music!
The WindLab is a mini wind-turbine (wind power generator), designed so students can learn about wind power technology. The free light and music modual gives you the opportunity to experiment with sound and light that is generated by a wind turbine.
A wind turbine converts kinetic energy from wind to electrical energy.
Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a system or object as a result of its motion.
Electrical energy is created by the flow of electric charge through a conductor.
You can do a variety of experiments that will give you an understanding of how a wind turbine generates electricity. For exanmple, students can modify the parameters (blades and vane) of this turbine to see how the output changes at different wind speed conditions. The vane on the turbine aligns the turbine automatically to the direction of the wind.
The blades and vane are made of polypropylene. You can create different experiments by , using various materials for the blades and evaluating the effectiveness of the material used compared to what was supplied in the kit.
The special 3 Phase AC Alternator used in the turbine is similar to the one used in real commercial wind turbine.
Included is the Gold Capacitor which is inside the wind turbine. Its purpose is to store the energy made from the wind.
The LED inside the turbine lights up to indicate that electrical energy is being produced. An LED is a semiconductor diode that converts applied voltage to light.
Transform one of your already remarkable horizontal wind-based educational kits into a model 3-phase wind turbine using our WindLab 3-Phase Interface Board. The triangular circuit board fits perfectly inside the plastic housing and captures the 3-phase electrical output of the wind turbine's alternator for analysis and display on your computer.
